The thinnest mechanical watch in the world, now built to be made again.
In 2024, ThinKing existed as a single proof: 1.65 mm from caseback to crystal, the absolute limit of what a mechanical wristwatch could be. One prototype. One benchmark. One answer to the question of how thin.
ThinKing Mystery is what comes after the answer. Twelve pieces. Not one-offs, but a serial architecture—repeatable, documented, controlled.
The thickness stays 1.65 mm. What changes is everything else. Assembly sequences defined down to the step. Tolerances locked. Internal quality control tracking amplitude stability across positions, geometry shifts after load, critical dimensions before and after testing. Each watch measured through the build. Each watch documented at the end.
The movement is built into the case itself. The caseback is the mainplate. The gear train splits across two levels to save height. The double balance lies flat, coupled by gears, avoiding any vertical stack. Two transparent sapphire discs carry the time, driven from the side—outside the visible contour—so the discs never wobble, never drag, never add friction where friction would break a 1.65 mm mechanism.
Rate accuracy: −15 to +20 seconds per day, regulated across positions. Power reserve: 36 hours, torque and amplitude recorded across the full run. The barrel carries its own ratchet, shaved to nothing. The case is structural alloy, measured for deformation under stress. The strap is part of the architecture, not an afterthought—designed to take bending load off the case when the watch is worn.
There is no crown. At 1.65 mm, a crown is a weakness. Winding and setting happen with a signature tool, torque-limited, over-winding protected. A key is included. The tool is designed to be gentle. The watch is not.
With each ThinKing Mystery comes the PalanKing carrier: titanium, automatic, 5.4 mm thick. The record-holder slides inside, becoming a watch that can be worn daily without thinking about the 1.65 mm of mechanics inside. The carrier takes the knocks. The ThinKing stays intact.
Twelve pieces. Each one the thinnest mechanical wristwatch in the world. Each one documented, measured, repeatable.
Here is what is designed. Here is what is measured. Here is what Konstantin Chaykin is willing to document.
THINKING MYSTERY 1.65 mm. 12 pieces. Not a prototype.
